Travel.

I have been saving for college since I can remember ( not that long really ) and I have a substantial amount, I mean more that others have but also less. All I thought about was saving for college, A lot passed through my head but never anything that would make me want to use the money on anything else. One day I was sitting at the table minding my own business when my mums friend popped in for tea ( happens only every hour of the day ). Turns out she had lived in Hong Kong for nearly four years as well as having traveled around many other countries. Pretty much since then that's all I have thought about, travelling, in one ear and not out the other, So now what I have decided is I will go to London this year, until Christmas, after Christmas I will hopefully be starting my travels  I wont go to college (yet), as much as I want to go and study photography I have realized that college is not the end all and be all. I don't know my chances of getting in, every time I get a email from ucas, my heart skips a beat and I hold me breath without realizing until I have it open. So far no bad news. Still waiting.

I also met a guy while working, we talked bout the normal working topics of conversation, the weather (That's a big one) the recession, and then it moved onto college, travelling, turns out he had traveled around the world for up to four years. He said Thailand is amazing. It excites me more than anything to think that this time next year I could be in India experiencing the culture, the food, the music, the people or visiting the Angkor Wat in Cambodia, or the abandoned city of Keelung in Taiwan. My attitude is very much based around having and needing to travel. Who wants to stay in Ireland for the rest of there lives, who doesn't want to travel around the world they have been put on.

These images also have nothing to do with the above writing. I just think they look cool.

  1. Do it! As a thirty something who missed my chance when young enough, do it! Embrace your youth and absolutely wring it dry!
