What is Alternative?

So by definition; a choice limited to one of two or more possibilities, as of things, propositions, or courses of action, the selection of which precludes any other possibility: You have the alternative of riding or walking.

So what I'm getting from this is a 'difference'? Most people seem to think that alternative is listening to music that doesn't include Nicki Minaj's ass or Rihanna's boobs, and five guys who sing cheesy pop songs. Wearing shoes that don't include the labels of Nike or Adidas. Of course wearing clothes that make people look twice, including a colourful ensemble, or a dark black Gothic take on life.  There are Emo's, Goths, Gaa's, Punk, Hippie, Indie, Jock, Grunge, Metal head, Nerds, Geeks, Gangster, skater? The list goes on. Aren't these people alternative in their own way? Within their group? People seem to think that there is just one alternative. But the truth is everyone is alternative. Being alternative will never fade. No one in this round world is the same. Everyone has different solutions that make up the liquid to their bodies. Therefor everyone is Alternative. Alternative is a broad word and to fully understand it, you much have an open mind, you must not narrow it down to one section. Just because everyone does it, does not mean that is the same, or it is the normal thing to do. What is normal? What is different? Who cares? Who cares what category a person falls into, who cares what clothes a person wears, or what music they listen to. It's judgement. Judgement is crazy these days. Someone looks at you and you become a pouncing tiger. Someone looks at you and you become paranoid. Everyone judges everyone, no matter what it is on. No one is just happy with themselves or others. Why do you care if someone is wearing their pants tucked into their socks, or wearing a white tracksuit with a luminous pink stripe down it? Or wearing earnings that cause a hole the size of a lamp shade (a big lamp shade) leaving the skin of their once ear to dangle back and forward as they walk.  I used too, until I realized it does not affect me in anyway. I'm glad to be friends with anyone, no matter what they wear, who they are or what they listen too. It’s the inside that counts. And always will. I respect people for doing what they want. I have great friends and being different is what makes it a friendship. Different opinions, Different insights, Different tastes, Different things to argue over. If everything was the same, what would we have? Boredom for one. Depression for two. So alternative is everything, everyone? Alternative is doing what you want. I'm pretty sure everything that makes up this population has the choice of making their own decisions. Alternative is just a word, just like every other word in the dictionary. Don't take it too serious.
