Castle

Jess.
So turns out as you may see that I have really gotten into this blogging thing. I cant tell you how much I'm enjoying it. It excites me to do something new. I don't care if no one reads. I'm happy getting my thoughts out of my head and onto a piece of paper (in this case a virtual piece of paper).

The photo to your left was taken in Lismore Castle. I got the chance thanks to some very helpful people to get a days worth of shots in there. Took about 400-500. How much of them do I like, or am going to actually use? 10 would probably push it.

I am not allowed to show any photos that would advertise the castle but considering its a blank wall behind Jess, I think I'm ok on that front. So reasons I love this photo? May sound wierd but the area below the nose that looks like a tear drop, just above the lips.. See how profound that it. Well there you go, that's what I like. Apart from the calm expression and contrast between the body and jacket of course. It really is the little details that make a photo. This is a portfolio definite.

The photo entitled 'feet' below is another one got during the photo shoot at the castle. Joe McNally is my inspiration for this photo. I bought his book 'The Moment it Clicks' in a little bookshop in Yorkshire. I wish I remembered the name of it. In this book Joe says 'Tom Kennedy, the former DOP at National Geographic, always used to tell me to pay attention to the small details'. He was right. 'They are the connective tissue that holds together the larger bones of the story'. Joe's picture is of ballerina Paloma Herrera. He asked her to take her shoes of at the end of her dance, She did so but wasn't too happy about the idea. Her feet were awful, and for me that's why I loved it. These two people were not very happy about it either but I continued with getting the shot I wanted. And here it is. So thank you Joe, and thank you girls.
Feet.
